BUT FIRST, LET'S FIND OUT HOW THEY BOTH MET!....
Here it is, their LOVE STORY.....
"Wow!
she is gorgeous!" I know that is not what I was suppose to be thinking during praise band rehearsal at the Missionay Baptist Seminary in Little Rock, AR where I
had began to attend fall of last year, but I couldn't help staring! I
sat in the back with my djimbee while we rehearsed every tuesday, and I
couldn't take my eyes off of the dark haired girl with the amazing
complection, and the smile that you could literally watch as it lit up
peoples day. The next thought that went through my head was "Paul she is
out of your league, and you don't even know if she is married or not..."
One thing was sure, I had never had a problem talking to anyone. I'm
kinda a talker and have been told by my family that I even talk in my
sleep. But this girl was different I was nervous... had butterflies...
Let's call it what it was I was scared... Then one day I walked past her,
heading out the front doors. she was sitting on the U shaped bench that
was just inside the main entrance to the seminary I waved, but just
couldn't even say hi... I walked half way across the parking lot, and
stopped myself with a little inward pep talk. Just talk to her what is
she going to say... no I don't like you." So with all the boldness I
could master I turned around and marched back in where I found her still
sitting on the bench. and with all the eliquence of a thirteen year old
with highwater jeans and no clue on how to talk to women I reached way
down in my gut and said... "hi". I was very glad that Anna started
talking and thankful that she drove converstion that is still a blur to
this day. All I on my own could manage was "Hi". Then I began looking
for her and we ran into each other everywhere, But my favorite part of
the day became the morning break when I would go downstairs to the
breakroom where I would get Coffee. She would be there stunningly
beautiful yet so down to earth that she could carry on conversation with
anyone.
One day she stopped me and asked me "Do you believe in God" immediately I said "Yes". Then she looked at me with a little bit of a smile at the corners of her mouth and said "Why". Sadly it was a question that I hadn't really dug into before. I was floored. Anna amazed me at every turn Beautiful, Easy to talk to (once I got past the nerves) and Smart. Wow! The most honest woman I have ever met, and that doesn't even get into the heart for God that I found in her though many different experiences over the last seven months. A true poverbs 31 woman that I am honored to have in my life.
A week or so later she was looking for someone to play guitar for her so of course I volunteered. We had the song down in three minutes, but I insisted to get together again over thanksgiving to "rehears" even though we didn't need it. After a few evenings of studying in the liberary. I was trying to find the perfect way to take her to be my girlfriend, I called her dad, but couldn’t find an open evening to take her out. So in true romantic fashion way I asked her as she was getting into her car to go meet the girls she had bible study with for a Christmas Party. Not the most romantic way or time but Anna says it is one of the only times I have truly been able to surprise her.
It was some time in July or August that Anna and I really started talking about marriage. Anna had gone on a 3 month trip to China. When Anna got back she was able to stay just over a week. It was great to have her back on this side of the world. That week was crazy and I again couldn't find the right time to ask her an important question. So as we were standing in the Airport saying goodbye I sang to Mi Flaquita Bonita and in the last line of the song asked her if "she would marry me". She at first just hugged me, and I thought that might mean yes, but when I heard her say yes, there was so much joy that I could not contain it. I had the biggest smile for days.
I look forward to many more days of joy with Anna! Thanks Be To God For The Blessing Of Anna Isabel Magana Manzano in my life!
WOW!!!! Isn't their story amazing!!! I'm sure their life will be awesome and they both make such an awesome cute looking couple! While doing this photoshoot I got to know Paul a little bit more and he's a really cool guy!!! All I can say is that I can see GOD through both of them!
Below is the song Paul sang to her....
Mi Flaquita Bonita
When your feeling sad
When your feeling blue
And you don't know what to do
Just think of this simple tune
and as the music begins to swoon
put these words inside your head
and just think on this song instead
Mi Flaquita Bonita
Mexicana Senorita
Thin Beautiful Baby
My Mexican Lady
Como Tu no hay dos
There's none like you
Mi Flaquita Bonita
Te Amo
I Love you
Now here you are within my sight
And I know the timing's right
So I want to stop and say
Anna Magana
Will You Marry Me?
